Ghana EDUCATION PROJECT October 3, 2006

Do you realize that …millions of children around the World cannot afford to go to school.  The Nova Scotia Teacher’s Union is raising money this week (along with the Canadian Teacher’s Federation) to help children in Ghana(population of 23 million) be able to go to school.

It only costs $35/year for a child to attend school in this country but many cannot afford to go (the average income is only $2200 per year).  For $105/year, a child can attend school and get lunch each day (at least one good meal for the day).  If you are interested in helping … please make a donation to this fund at the YCMHS office this week.  Any and all donations will be welcome and appreciated.  Thanksgiving is quickly approaching … think of it as a way to show, “THANKS” … thanks for the education provided to children in Nova Scotia!
